Google Calendar gives every calendar a private iCal link called the Secret address in iCal format. In this article you'll copy it.
You'll need: a computer (the option isn't in the phone app) and permission to change the calendar's sharing settings.
Copy the secret address
- Open Google Calendar at calendar.google.com.
- In the list on the left, under My calendars or Other calendars, point at the calendar you want.
- Select the three dots next to it, then Settings and sharing.
- Scroll down to Integrate calendar.
- Find Secret address in iCal format and select the copy button next to it.
Paste it into CompleteVantage under Calendars, Add calendar. See Add a calendar.
The link looks like https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/…/private-…/basic.ics.
Public calendars
If a calendar is already public (for example a company events calendar), you can use its Public address in iCal format from the same Integrate calendar section instead.
Meeting rooms in Google Workspace
Room calendars (resources) are managed by your Google Workspace admin.
- If you can subscribe to the room's calendar and open its Settings and sharing, use the address under Integrate calendar.
- If there's only a Public address in iCal format, it works only when the room's calendar is shared publicly. An admin can share it with See only free/busy (hide details) so the room board shows "Busy" for each booking without revealing titles.
If the secret address is missing
Your Workspace admin may have turned off sharing calendars outside your organization, which also hides the secret address. Admins control this in the Google Admin console under Apps, Google Workspace, Calendar, Sharing settings. Ask your admin whether it can be allowed, or use a public calendar for screens.
