Email is the simplest way to get alerts. You can send them to one person, a few people, or a shared mailbox.
Before you start: you need the admin or owner role.
Add an email destination
- In the menu, select Settings.
- In the Alerts panel, select Add alert destination.
- Leave Email selected.
- In Name, type a name such as "Facilities team".
- In Send to, enter the email addresses, separated by commas. For example:
it@baysidehotels.example, facilities@baysidehotels.example. - Under Alert me when, tick the events you want.
- Select Save.
- Select Send test next to the new destination, and check the inbox.
Each email has a short subject such as "Screen offline: Reception", the details, and an Open in CompleteVantage button that takes you straight to the screen.
Troubleshooting
The Alerts panel says email alerts need an SMTP server. Your CompleteVantage server hasn't been set up to send email yet. That's a one-time job for whoever runs your CompleteVantage server. Until then, Teams, Slack and webhooks work without it.
"Not a valid email:" One of the addresses has a typo. The message lists which one.
The test was sent but nothing arrived. Check your junk or spam folder, then ask your IT team to allow mail from the sender address. Some company mail filters hold messages from new senders.
