When you save a change, screens pick it up at their next check-in, usually within 30 seconds and always within about a minute. If a change hasn't appeared after a couple of minutes, work through this list.
1. Was it saved?
- Layouts and playlists are only saved when you select Save layout or Save playlist. The button stands out while there are unsaved changes. You can also press Ctrl+S (or Cmd+S on a Mac).
- In media, select Save changes in the item's window.
- You'll see a message such as "Saved. Screens update within a minute."
2. Is it waiting for approval?
If approvals are on and you're an editor, your change waits for an admin or owner. The button says Submit for approval, and the item shows "Waiting for approval. Screens show the approved version." See Working with approvals.
3. Is the screen showing that content right now?
A broadcast or schedule may be showing something else. Open the screen's page and select Preview under What plays here. See Why is my screen showing this?.
4. Is the screen online?
A screen that's Offline or Not responding can't collect changes. It shows its saved content and catches up when it reconnects. See What screen statuses mean.
5. Are the dates right?
Items outside their Show from and Show until dates are skipped. Check the dates on the media item and on the playlist item. See Show dates and tags.
6. Is it still processing?
New PowerPoint, PDF and video files are converted before they can play. The media card shows "Converting slides", "Rendering pages" or "Processing" until it's ready.
Still nothing?
On the screen's page, select Reload content. The screen reloads at its next check-in. If that doesn't help, use More actions, then Restart app on Android screens. See Remote actions.
