Screens and hardware
What hardware do I need?
An Android TV or Google TV box, a Fire TV stick, an Android stick, or any computer with a web browser. Android is the best choice for screens that run all day. See Choosing hardware.
Does it work on Samsung or LG smart TVs?
Not with a built-in app. Plug an Android TV box or Fire TV stick into the TV's HDMI port instead. It's cheap and gives you remote control, offline playback and updates.
Can I use a portrait (vertical) screen?
Yes. Set the screen's Orientation to Portrait and use portrait layouts and templates. See Screen settings and Portrait layouts.
Can the screen turn itself off at night?
Yes, with display hours. See Set display hours.
How many screens can I have?
As many as your plan includes. Admins and owners can see the limit, and how many are paired, under Usage. See Plans and limits.
Can I see what a screen is showing without walking over?
Yes. Every screen card shows its latest screenshot, and Android screens have Live view. See Live view.
Internet and offline
Do screens need internet all the time?
No. Screens save your content and keep playing if the connection drops. YouTube, live streams, web pages, weather and RSS tickers need internet to update. See What happens when a screen goes offline.
How quickly do changes reach screens?
Usually within 30 seconds, and within about a minute at most. Broadcasts switch within 30 seconds.
What network access do screens need?
Screens need to reach your CompleteVantage address over HTTPS. If your network blocks websites, ask IT to allow it, plus any web pages, YouTube or weather you use.

Which file types can I upload?
Images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP), video (MP4, M4V, WebM, MOV), PDF and PowerPoint (PPTX, PPT, ODP), up to 500 MB each. See Supported formats and limits.
Does video play with sound?
Video is muted unless you choose Play sound in its settings. YouTube sound works on Android screens. See Image and video settings.
Can I schedule content for a date range, like a Christmas notice?
Yes, two ways: give a media item Show from and Show until dates, or create a schedule with a date range. See Show dates and tags and Date ranges and priority.
Can I show a Power BI or other live dashboard?
Yes, as a web page, if it has a view-only link or accepts a key. See Web pages and dashboards and A web page or dashboard won't show.
Can I show meeting room bookings?
Yes, from Outlook, Microsoft 365 or Google Calendar. See Add a calendar.
How do I put an urgent message on every screen?
Use a broadcast. See Send a broadcast.
Team and security
Can I stop people changing screens without checking first?
Yes. Give them the editor role and turn on approvals. See Turn on approvals.
Who can see our dashboard keys and calendar links?
No one, after you save them. Access keys and iCal links are never shown again in the admin. Keys are only sent to screens, and calendar links stay on our server. See Access keys and Calendar privacy.
Can I see who changed what?
Yes. Admins and owners can see every change under Activity. See The activity log.
Is there single sign-on (SSO)?
Not yet. Everyone signs in with their email and a password.
Billing
Is there a free trial?
Yes. When you sign up, your trial starts straight away and no card is needed. The sign-up page shows how long it lasts and what it includes. See Sign up and start your free trial.
What happens when the trial ends?
Changes pause, and screens keep playing for a few days before they pause too. Nothing is deleted. See What happens when your trial ends.
What do I pay for?
Each paired screen, per month or per year. See Plans and limits.
What happens if I remove a screen?
You stop paying for it from your next bill. Its content stays in your library. See Screen settings.
