CompleteVantage runs on Android TV boxes and in web browsers. This article helps you pick hardware that will run reliably for years on a wall.

The app needs about 200 MB of free space at all times for its offline copy of your content. Videos take the most room.
Features that depend on the box
Some features rely on what the box itself supports. Check before you buy a large batch.
- Turning the TV off and on (display hours). The box needs "device admin" support, and the TV and box need HDMI-CEC turned on. Without it, the screen shows black outside its hours instead. See Display hours.
- Kiosk mode (device owner). Needed for silent app updates, remote reboot and locking the box to CompleteVantage. Most generic Android TV boxes support it. Set it up on a box that has no Google account signed in. See Set up kiosk mode.
- Starting by itself after a power cut. Easiest on boxes that let you choose the home app, or in kiosk mode.
Buying tips
- Buy one first. Try a single box for a week with your real content before ordering more.
- Prefer Ethernet. Wired connections are far more reliable than Wi-Fi behind a TV.
- Avoid boxes that need a Google sign-in to get started. Kiosk mode only works on a box with no accounts.
- Use the same model everywhere if you can. It makes troubleshooting much easier.
- Mount the box where air can flow. Heat is the most common cause of boxes freezing.
- Keep the remote. You'll need it once to install and pair the app.
