Everyone who signs in to your organization has one of four roles. The role decides what they can see and change. This article lists what each role can do so you can pick the right one.

The four roles at a glance

Choosing a role

  • Viewer suits people who only need to check what's on screen, such as a site manager or a help desk.
  • Editor suits people who make content day to day: marketing, communications, reception teams.
  • Admin suits the people who look after the screens themselves: IT or facilities.
  • Owner is for the account holder. Keep at least two owners so you're never locked out. CompleteVantage won't let you remove or demote the last owner.

Approvals change what editors can publish

If an admin turns on approvals, editors' changes wait for an admin or owner to approve them before they reach screens. Admins' and owners' own changes still go straight to screens. See Turn on approvals.

Working with more than one organization

If you belong to several organizations, you can have a different role in each. Switch between them with the organization menu at the top of the page. See Finding your way around.
