People's jobs change. You can change anyone's role on the People page, or remove their access altogether.
You need: the admin or owner role. Only owners can change or remove an owner, or make someone an owner.
Change a role
- Go to People.
- Find the person, then choose a new role in the list in the Role column.
The change saves straight away, and a message confirms it, for example "Sam Lee is now an admin."
You can't change your own role. Your row shows your role as plain text, with "(you)" after your name.
Remove someone
- Go to People.
- Select the remove button (the bin) at the end of their row.
- Select Remove to confirm.
They lose access to this organization. Their account stays, so they keep access to any other organizations they belong to. What they made, such as media and playlists, stays too.
Rules for owners
- Every organization needs at least one owner. To step down as the only owner, make someone else an owner first.
- Admins can't change an owner's role, remove an owner or make someone an owner.
- Owners can do all of these.
Troubleshooting
"Only owners can change an owner's role or make someone an owner." Ask an owner to make the change. The page reloads and the role goes back to what it was.
"Every organization needs at least one owner. Make someone else an owner first." Give another person the Owner role, then try again.
"You can't remove the last owner." Same fix: add another owner first.
